The Hudson Valley Renegades are committed to supporting education in our local community and provide several in- and out-of-classroom learning experiences for all students throughout the Hudson Valley! Whether it is classroom visits through our Education Program presented by Heritage Financial Credit Union, Rascal's Reading Challenge or our Education Days at the ballpark presented by Heritage Financial Credit Union, there are myriad ways for your school to be involved with the Hudson Valley Renegades!
The Hudson Valley Renegades host their inaugural Most-Improved Student Night on Sunday, June 1, 2025, celebrating the academic achievements of our local students. The goal of the program is to give teachers a way to recognize and reward their most-improved student from each class. Students who are nominated will earn one (1) complimentary ticket to the Renegades game on June 1 at Heritage Financial Park as well as a certificate of achievement.
Teachers can nominate a Most-Improved Student by contacting Aiden Knowles at [email protected] to receive materials that they will be able to pass along to their students, including a link to where the complimentary tickets can be redeemed. Parents and family members may purchase additional tickets to celebrate their child’s accomplishment at the ballpark through the link sent to redeem the complimentary ticket.
The program is open to students from Grades K through 12 from school districts in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster, Westchester, Rockland, and Sullivan Counties.
First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m., with gates opening at 1 p.m. Students who are nominated for Most Improved Student will be able to take place in a pregame parade around the warning track at Heritage Financial Park.
The Hudson Valley Renegades and Heritage Financial Credit Union have partnered to design an Education Program to bring the excitement of education and baseball to local elementary schools throughout the Hudson Valley! This program has been crafted to promote core values such as honesty, integrity, and teamwork.
The Education Program is designed for elementary students in grades K through 6. Schools will be allotted a two-hour time block for educational programming. Programming for each visit will be predetermined, wherein instruction will be distinguishable according to grade level and classroom environment. Teachers are strongly encouraged to provide recommended content to be shared.

Rascal's Reading Challenge is a new program for the 2025 season in which the Renegades work with local schools throughout the Hudson Valley to reward students for going above and beyond their regular reading requirements. The goal of the program is to hit a “Grand Slam” by reading four (4) books by the end of the designated time frame set by the Renegades, Teachers, and Librarians. Students that reach this goal will earn one (1) complimentary ticket to a Renegades game at Heritage Financial Park (on April 15 or May 13). The challenge is open to schools in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland and Sullivan Counties.
Have your school's musical group perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" on the field before the game! We welcome bands, choirs and orchestras to perform before the game. Fundraising options are available, too!
