Chesapeake 3 Senators 1

SUMMARY

The Harrisburg Senators fell to Chesapeake 3-1 in game one of their doubleheader Saturday night at FNB Field. Chesapeake scored two runs in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie. The Senators put two on with one in the seventh but the game ended with a double play. The Senators dropped their four straight with the loss and Chesapeake a fifth straight win.

THE BIG PLAY

Frederick Bencosme double in Silas Ardoin with the go ahead run in the sixth inning.

FILIBUSTERS

Max Romero, Jr had three hits and drove in a run. Murphy Stehly doubled, singled and scored.

TOP OF THE HILL

Hyun-il Choi started and allowed just one run on five hits while striking out six. Ivan Armstrong took the loss allowing two runs, one earned. Erick Mejia tossed a scoreless inning.

HARRISBURG SENATORS POSTGAME NOTES

Senators 7 Chesapeake 1

SUMMARY

The Harrisburg Senators snapped their four-game losing streak with a 7-1 win in game two of their doubleheader over the Chesapeake Baysox. Chesapeake scored first in the first, but the Senators came back with two in the second and the third then broke the game open with three in the sixth inning.

THE BIG PLAY

Murphy Stehly hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to break the game open for the Senators, giving the Sens a 6-1 lead.

FILIBUSTERS

Stehly had a single, double, scored a run and drove in two. CJ Stubbs drove in a run and scored twice. Eight of the nine starters in the Sens lineup had a hit.

TOP OF THE HILL

Dustin Saenz tossed five innings for the win. He allowed a run on five hits. Holden Powell and Michael Cuevas tossed scoreless innings.

ON THE DOCKET

The Senators and the Chesapeake Baysox play game six of their six-game series Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on ESPN 96.5, 95.3 and 1400 beginning at 6:15 p.m.
